Vauxhall Art Car Boot fair

Sometimes London really does pull out the stops.

This weekend the capital was just chock full of great stuff to do, from the finals of Wimbledon and the launch of the Tour de France, to the Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair. And the weather seemed to realise it was a big weekend too, with the rain finally giving way to a glorious couple of days of sun - it almost felt like summer had arrived.

The Car Boot Fair, now in its third year, runs in the car park of The Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane, and is a very relaxed mishmash of stuff from various British artists. Peter Blake, Tracey Emin and Gavin Turk were all there this year, selling their wares. We never found Emin, but Blake was selling some limited edition prints out the back of a customised Vauxhall, and Turk was selling some actual carboots that he'd signed.

There was also a great burlesque stage show going on - burlesque is just everywhere right now isn't it?

More pics here.

All in all, a grand weekend.
