Seems like the Commissioning Editors over at Penguin know a Great Idea when they see one.
Back in the summer, we helped Dave Pearson and Clare Skeats host a stand at the V&A Summer Fete, where we invited members of the public to take a shot at designing their own covers for a selection of Penguin books including The Outsider, War and Peace, The Witches, and The Waves. The response was fantastic, with some really amazing designs (you can check out the winning designs here).
And now Penguin are launching an official set of books with blank covers, the My Penguin series, where readers are invited to create their own designs for the covers for Meditations, Crime and Punishment, Magic Tales, The Waves, The Picture of Dorian Gray, and Emma. Then they're inviting people to showcase their covers at an online gallery.
Always nice to be the inspiration for something...
