Romance & Cigarettes

We went and saw John Turturro's new movie last night, Romance & Cigarettes. It's a fantastically eccentric mix of musical and kitchen sink drama, with great performances from Susan Sarandon, James Gandolfini and Kate Winslet; as well as a magnificent cameo from Christopher Walken.

We didn't think the original poster did justice to the film though, so we've mocked up an alternate version.

There's a scene in the film which features the Agent Provocateur underwear store, and that reminded us of a stunning screenprint they used to have up in the window of their London store. The image was from the 1950's fetish magazine Bizarre by John Willie; this copy is taken from Best of Bizarre by Taschen, ISBN 3-8228-5555-3.
