The RDI Summer School is a fantastic 4 day design event hosted by the RSA, and is taking place this year in a country house in Wales.
You basically get to hang out with around 30 other young designers, and with 12 of the RDIs, the Royal Designers For Industry, a gang whose members include Jonathan Ive, Paul Smith, Ron Arad, Derek Birdsall, and a host of other design gods.
You do some fairly loose design projects, and get the chance to think and collaborate in a really relaxed environment. It's only £100, which is just a token contribution, the rest of the costs (travel, accommodation, food, materials etc.) are subsidised.
We can highly recommend it - we went to the 2004 Summer School, and had a brilliant time.
To enter, you need to be a designer with between 3 and 15 years' experience. Go here for more information and an application form.
